Yorkshire Dales

In the Yorkshire Dales you’ll find the historic village of Ripley near Harrogate in the beautiful Dale of Nidderdale and overlooking Ripley deer parks and surrounding area is our farm. With glorious views, we are just a mile from the village located on the peaceful but popular bridle way - The Nidderdale Way. You are assured of a restful night’s sleep to help you relax and enjoy your stay in North Yorkshire.

We have two Bed and Breakfast rooms in Slate Rigg Farmhouse and have recently converted an old cart shed into two self catering holiday cottages. They have wonderful views and are ideal for exploring the Dales and perhaps a little retail therapy in Harrogate or York!

The Farm

The farm is a mixed arable farm, with cattle and breeding sheep which are fed with our home grown crops. We have one sheep dog which is called Kip, who is very friendly; especially if you throw her stick for her (she's not allowed stones, although she'll try!). Our two cats are farm cats, one very friendly black one named Owen (after Michael) and the other one that is just the opposite is called Gismo (if you've seen the film Gremlins-you'll understand!)

We are ideally situated for local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, Ripley Castle, Harewood House and local beauty spots such as Brimham Rocks, Stump Cross Caverns and Nidderdale itself as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Accommodation

Dawn and Keith Bowes offer bed and breakfast for short term stay or if you are looking for somewhere to stay where you can relax for a longer time we have completed two new cottages Bramble and Buttercup, there is a minimum stay but if you only need a night or two the bed and breakfast rooms could be right for you.
